The Church within the state boundaries is autonomous and lives in its parishes whose delegates form the Synod, the main legislative body of the Church. The Church is being led between the Synods by the Synod Council. Both bodies are chaired by the Bishop and the Warden-in-Chief. The Church is organised on Presbyterian principle, so all office bearers are elected for a mandate [of six years]. Active congregations are called parishes and named by the place where they operate.
It is appropriate to use the abbreviated name:
REFORMED CHURCH
that is in line with the European theological usage,
several centuries-long practice and linked with
our confession.
